The nominated book

was produced in at least 200 copies.

can be nominated, in case of a non-first edition, only if the design of the re-issue differs significantly from that of the previous edition(s).

has an ISBN number.

in whose creation one or more members of the jury participated (as author, editor, designer, art director, illustrator, or typesetter) is by default excluded from the competition.

The applicant

states that he/she is a Hungarian citizen, or has a permanent address in Hungary.

can enter as many books as he/she wishes.

agrees that in case of the nominated book getting longlisted he/she will provide the jury with two physical copies for further inspection. If the book makes it to the shortlist, these copies become the property of the organizers – if not, ownership is retained by the applicant.

agrees that in case of the nominated book getting awarded he/she will provide the organizers with one more physical copy, which in turn will be nominated by the organizers to the Best Book Design from all over the World international competition.

The jury

retains the right, under justifiable circumstances, to assess the books in categories different to what these were nominated in.
